So call me Jay, its some kind of a bird, noisy, restless, and quite expressive bird… or maybe it is a novice, a greenhorn, a mere imposter of the real artist which sometimes I still feel as.
I live in Vladivostok, Russia. It`s a city on the western shore of the Sea of Japan and this land is called ‘Primorye’ – Maritime Region. So, let it be – Maritime Jay.
Almost whole life I used to believe that painting is for some special, unearthly people, certainly, not for me. Until one day, wandering around a small bookstore I spotted a book ‘The Sumi-e Book’ by Yolanda Mayhall. Looking through it, I suddenly realised that maybe, just MAYBE, even I could give it a try.
Some years later – here we are. Now I`m absolutely sure that everyone can paint or draw, if not, he or she just didn`t find their own style yet. That`s all.
