River of Time

“If you sit by the river long enough, you’ll see the body of your enemy float by”
This phrase’s believed to be said by Confucius.
Although I have been told that the original phrase is:
子 在 川 上 曰, 逝者 如 斯夫,不舍 昼 夜
which is literally translated as:
“Son on the Sichuan said: the deceased as a fan! Do not worry day and night.” It means:
Confucius looking at the river said something which meaning (considering the wordplay) is “the time passes like river runs; through day and night, they never stop.”
Not a word about any enemy, mind you! Peace and love to everyone! 🤗
